July 28, 2012 (from VC Star Obituary Guestbook) Fourth of July at the Beach's was always a special time for my family. Everyone brought their best chili for the chili contest. We spread quilts on the giant side lawn, played vollyball, and chatted with friends while kids ran wild. Then we'd watch the fireworks as night fell. Everyone in the community was always welcome. I just always felt lucky to be welcomed by such gracious hosts...who not only never forgot my name, but knew the names of all my children as well!
